Life is busy at the moment. I'm self employed, which means working some pretty crazy hours, plus I'm trying my best to be a good husband and father to my one year old daughter. I'm also desperately trying to get a YouTube channel off the ground, so there's a lot of pressure on my time.
Updates are going to be slow over the coming weeks and months, but I'm still determined to keep Magipunk going. Eventually, things will quieten down for me, at which point I'll be able to commit to a more solid update schedule, but in the meantime, I'm going to push new comics out as and when I can spare the time.
Believe me when I say that not a week goes by that I don't feel guilty about not giving Magipunk more attention. Please be patient with me as I strive for a better work/life balance.
They're multiplying! O_o And just in time for Halloween, too.
And really, can't argue with Jason's logic. Of the two main characters in this comic, Candy is certainly the more competent. Actually, she's probably one of the most competent characters out of *all* the characters.
Try not to let the guilt get you down; of course work and family are going to be higher priorities.
At christmas, I often get nostalgic for Totally KOTOR and Magipunk. Probably because I spent a good portion of my 16th christmas reading this stuff. So I've made it a kinda tradition to re-read the spoof wars and magipunk archives over the course of the season. I finished today and I must say, this story is like the peanuts of sci-fi fantasy comedy skits. It's 100% a classic and the characters will forever remain in my heart. Here's to you, kotor! May you and Runt and Candy all have a very merry christmas.
My name is Dominic Walsh and I have Asperger's syndrome. I'm the person the character of Runt Skywalker is based on. Runt's behaviours in Totally Kotor "Wooo! I'm a Jedi! I'm a Jedi! I'm a Jedi!" and "I was gonna become supreme Chancellor and then change all the laws" are references to things I said when I was younger in school. "Wooo!" and "gonna" in this one lesson. The comic where Vrook says to Runt "I hate you. I want you to die." is a reference to a teacher who likened me to a Holocaust victim when I was 12. It just upsets me that a character based on me is made to look like a fool and mocked all of the time for being stupid. I am autistic, I am not an idiot. The creator of this comic mentioned that he had a one year old daughter. I sincerely hope that he will teach her to respect and accept those who are different to her and not single them out for abuse. I realise this comic has been inactive for 2 years but I just need to say what I am saying because it is not right that I should be bullied to the point of mental collapse and then be parodied in a web comic.
@Dominic: I appreciate what you have said. Please keep in mind I am not trying to agitate you. However, I have to ask: how do you know that a character conceived in the 2006 is based on you?; and do you know the creator of these comics personally?
I like to think there's a chance it will make a comeback. Especially since the author's YouTube channel is doing alright.
Although, perhaps it's time to let go of the characters I've enjoyed since Totally KOTOR.
@Mr. Red: Somehow, knowing the author's doing fine YET he didn't ever bother with a one-line message to inform his (former) readers that his comic is/isn't dead for good doesn't really fill me with hope...
(Kinda like when certain authors abandoned their comics on Tapas to continue on Webtoon WITHOUT informing anyone)
